Your plans worked out great. We hired a crew for the concrete work but my wife and I did all the construction from there. We followed
the plans closely with only a few changes mostly due to our location
in the hot, humid, windy area south of Houston. The project was
built on a slab rather than foundation. We used Hardie-plank siding
and trim instead of aluminum. Ridge vents were substituted for the
gable vents. We enlarged the windows to 4' x 4' due to them being an
in-stock item. The last change was to use additional anchor bolts
and lots of hurricane strapping to meet our local windstorm
codes. We finished the project just days before hurricane Rita came
through our area and gave it it's first test. We sustained no damage
and were fortunate to have the extra storage space for all our
outdoor equipment and lawn furniture.
